Roti Barfi

Roti Barfi is a creative dish originated from Indian cuisine, prepared by using rotis which are Indian breads. It turns a simple flat bread called roti into a very delicious dessert in fact it is much more than that. Here’s a detailed explanation of what roti barfi is and how it is made.

Roti barfi is a barfi that is prepared with blend of crushed rotis and adding milk, sugar, ghee (clarified butter) and cardamom. This is the best way of coming up with a sweet dish when you have some leftover rotis. The nuts added to this roti barfi provide a crisp feel and also gives it a rather enhanced taste.

You can keep this sweet in an airtight container to preserve the quality of the roti barfi. It can lie in normal temperature for a few days or best to refrigerate and preserve the shelf life.

This sweet dish is a combination of flavors that people can enjoy and it is a rather smart way of avoiding wastage of the leftover roti.

Though it is prepared in the similar way as the normal barfi and both look almost similar but roti barfi has a different base and taste than normal barfi.

Both types of barfi are hard set and need to be cut into square or diamond pieces generally. They are visually indistinct and the difference in their taste depends on the preparation of the individual doughs used.

Conclusion:

It can be said that roti barfi and a regular barfi as the names suggest are quite similar in the process of making and the appearance but the main difference is the ingredients used and the taste. It is transformed to a delightful dessert or sweet by using leftover rotis, while regular barfi comes with a variety of flavors.
