Dal Tadka Recipe Dhaba Style
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Split gram dal (chana dal) washed & soaked for 1hour
- 2 Finely chopped onions
- 2 Finely chopped tomatoes
- 1 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
- 1/2 Tsp Red chilli powder
- 1/2 Tsp Coriander powder
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin powder
- 1/2 Tsp Kitchen king masala
- 1/2 Tsp Garam masala powder
- Salt as per taste
Instructions
- In a pressure cooker add chana dal
- Add 2 cups water - Add 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder - Add 1/2 Tsp salt - Give it a mix
- Close the lid and pressure cook on high flame for 2-3 whistles
- open the vessel when pressure is released completely and give a slight stir
- Heat 3 Tbsp oil in a pan - - Add 1/2 Tsp cumin seeds - 2 Bay leaves
- Add 2 finely chopped onions - Saute until golden brown
- Add 1 Tbsp ginger garlic paste - Stir for few seconds
- Add 2 finely chopped tomatoes - give it a mix
- Add 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
- Add 1/2 Tsp red chilli powder
- Add 1/2 Tsp coriander powder
- Add 1/2 Tsp cumin powder
- Add 1/2 Tsp kitchen king masala
- Add 1/2 Tsp Garam masala powder - Mix well
- Cover and let it cook for 3-4 minutes
- When soft and cooked well - Add dal and salt as per taste
- Add Few coriander leaves - Give it a mix
- Add 1/2 cup water - Cover and let it cook for 5-7 minutes
- Check if dal is cooked well - Remove it in a serving dish
Preparation Of Tadka
- In a tadka pan add 1 tbsp oil
- Add two garlic cloves - sliced
- Add two dried red chillies and give it a mix
- Finally add tempering to the dal
- Serve with roti, paratha, naan
