Garlic Corn Rice Recipe | | How To Make Corn Rice

Garlic Corn Rice is a delicious and rich dish made from corn and garlic which can be served along with other dishes or as a separate dish. It is rather easy to prepare and as such can be taken as a side dish or as a main course.

The rice used is usually one that is a day old due to the fact that it has a somewhat dry texture hence it will not turn out to be soft when stir-frying. You can also cook and use fresh long-grain rice like Basmati.

Garlic corn fried rice is a rather simple and delicious dish to make. This is one of my favorite rice recipes prepared at home. This meal is a variation of the conventional fried rice which is quite satisfying and tasty.

The essential preparation of Garlic Corn Rice draws much focus on the quality and the reactivity of its constituents. The fresh garlic, and sweet corn kernels are crucial in the preparation in order to get the best of the flavors. For this preparation, you may use fresh corn kernels after removing the cob or corn that is frozen with equal delicious results.

Garlic Corn Rice is best served on its own although it can be served alongside manchurian, roasted vegetables, paneer chilli and tofu. It is definitely tasty and has a slightly sweet touch liked by most people. It is rather easy to prepare and as such can be taken as a side dish or as main course.

If you are a non-vegetarian food lover, you can add egg and chicken in this recipe and give it a try. I am sure all are going to love it. Inclusion of eggs and chicken in corn fried rice also add extra protein. This is a healthy meal prepared in under 30 minutes.

Cooking Tips For Perfect Corn Rice Recipe

  • Use fresh corn. To make it more healthier and tasty use fresh corn.
  • Remove kernels from cobs: Hold the cob steady. Using a knife, slice it downwards on the cob following the length of the cob and pull off the kernels. You can also use corn kernel peeler but in all I find it better to use a knife.
  • Always soak rice: If you are using fresh cooked rice rinse rice in water and soak it in enough water for 30 minutes.
  • Mix in with the rice the cobs: The cobs will have a lot of concentrated sugar, do not discard them. Add them to rice for more flavor. (This is optional).
  • Cook on low flame: Always cook on low or medium flame, so that it does not burn or is over cooked.

How To Make Garlic Corn Fried Rice

Garlic Corn Rice Recipe is very simple to make, just follow the step to step procedure for preparing delicious and tasty garlic corn fried rice.

  1. I have used pre cooked rice in this recipe. You can also use fresh long-grain rice like Basmati or any other non-sticky rice of your choice. But do not forget to rinse rice in water and soak it in enough water for 30 minutes.
  1. Remove the corn kernels from the cob else you can also use frozen corn.
  1. Place the pan on the flame and melt butter, spread it over the pan on medium flame. To this add chopped garlic pieces, green chilli chopped, sweet corn, salt depending upon the requirement, black pepper powder and garlic paste. Stir fry on a medium flame for two to three minutes.
  1. Add rice and mix well with ingredients, now add red chilli sauce and chopped spring onion greens.
  1. Saute for a few minutes until cooked well.
  1. Once it is cooked well, remove it in a serving bowl.
  1. You can also garlic corn rice with manchurian, roasted vegetables, paneer chilli and tofu.

Ingredients  

  • 2 Tbsp Butter (मक्खन)
  • 2 Tbsp Finely chopped garlic
  • 1 Green chilli
  • 2 Tbsp Sweet corn
  • Salt as required
  • 1/2 Tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 Bowl Pre cooked rice
  • 1 Tsp Garlic paste
  • 1 Tsp Red chilli sauce
  • Few chopped spring onion greens

Instructions 

  • Heat a pan on a medium flame.
  • Add 2 tbsp butter and spread it evenly.
  • Add 2 tbsp finely chopped garlic and stir for a few seconds.
  • Add green chili and saute for a minute.
  • Now add 2 tbsp sweet corn and mix it properly.
  • Add  salt as required and 1/2 tsp black pepper powder, stir and cook for a minute on medium flame.
  • Add 1 bowl pre pre-cooked rice and give it a mix keeping the flame low.
  • Now add garlic paste and red chili sauce and saute for a minute or two.
  • Top it with a few chopped spring onion greens and mix well.
  • Remove it in a  serving bowl.
  • You can serve with manchurian, roasted vegetables, paneer chilli and tofu.
