Ingredients
Ingredients For Preparing Onion Paste
- 10-12 tbsp Cashews
- 6-8 tbsp Almonds
- 2 tbsp Green cardamoms
- 2 tbsp Medium sized onions (Cut into cubes)
- 1 tbsp Green Chilli
Ingredients For Preparing Gravy
- 200 Grams Cottage cheese (Paneer) cut in cubes.
- 1/4 Cup Fresh cream
- 1/4 Tsp Cumin seed
- 1 tbsp Bay leaf
- 2 tbsp Small pieces of cinnamon
- 3-4 tbsp Cloves
- 1 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1 Tsp Red chilli powder.
- 1 Tsp Garam masala powder
- 1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
- tbsp Salt to taste
Instructions
For preparing onion paste
- Add - 10-12 cashews.
- Add 6-8 Almonds and fry for few seconds.
- Add 2-3 green cardamoms.
- Heat a pan on medium flame add 1 tbsp butter and spread evenly.
- Add 2 medium sized onions (Cut into cubes).
- Add 1 Green Chilli.
- Cook until the onions turns translucent.
- Swicth off the flame and let it cool completely.
- Remove it in a grinding jar, add little water and grind it to a smooth paste.
For preparing gravy
- Heat a pan on medium flame add 2 tbsp oil.
- Add 1/4 Tsp cumin seed and saute for a minute.
- Add 1 Bay leaf, 2 small pieces of cinnamon and 3-4 Cloves and fry for a minute.
- Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and mix well for a minute.
- Now add the grinded onion paste.
- Mix well and let it cook for a minute or two on a medium flame.
- Add 1 Tsp red chilli powder.
- Add 1 Tsp garam masala powder.
- 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder.
- Salt to taste, Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Lower the flame and add 1/2 cup fresh curd.
- Mix well and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add 1 cup of water and give it a mix.
- Add 200 grams cottage cheese (Paneer) cut in cubes.
- Add 1/4 cup fresh cream and mix well.
- Cover and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Shahi panner is ready, switch off the flame and remove it in a serving dish.
- Top it with fresh cream and serve hot with naan, roti or paratha.
