Ingredients  

Ingredients For Preparing Onion Paste

  • 10-12 tbsp Cashews
  • 6-8 tbsp Almonds
  • 2 tbsp Green cardamoms
  • 2 tbsp Medium sized onions (Cut into cubes)
  • 1 tbsp Green Chilli

Ingredients For Preparing Gravy

  • 200 Grams Cottage cheese (Paneer) cut in cubes.
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh cream
  • 1/4 Tsp Cumin seed
  • 1 tbsp Bay leaf
  • 2 tbsp Small pieces of cinnamon
  • 3-4 tbsp Cloves
  • 1 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 Tsp Red chilli powder.
  • 1 Tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
  • tbsp Salt to taste

Instructions 

For preparing onion paste

  • Add - 10-12 cashews.
  • Add 6-8 Almonds and fry for few seconds.
  • Add 2-3 green cardamoms.
  • Heat a pan on medium flame add 1 tbsp butter and spread evenly.
  • Add 2 medium sized onions (Cut into cubes).
  • Add 1 Green Chilli.
  • Cook until the onions turns translucent.
  • Swicth off the flame and let it cool completely.
  • Remove it in a grinding jar, add little water and grind it to a smooth paste.

For preparing gravy

  • Heat a pan on medium flame add 2 tbsp oil.
  • Add 1/4 Tsp cumin seed and saute for a minute.
  • Add 1 Bay leaf, 2 small pieces of cinnamon and 3-4 Cloves and fry for a minute.
  • Add 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and mix well for a minute.
  • Now add the grinded onion paste.
  • Mix well and let it cook for a minute or two on a medium flame.
  • Add 1 Tsp red chilli powder.
  • Add 1 Tsp garam masala powder.
  • 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder.
  • Salt to taste, Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Lower the flame and add 1/2 cup fresh curd.
  • Mix well and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add 1 cup of water and give it a mix.
  • Add 200 grams cottage cheese (Paneer) cut in cubes.
  • Add 1/4 cup fresh cream and mix well.
  • Cover and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Shahi panner is ready, switch off the flame and remove it in a serving dish.
  • Top it with fresh cream and serve hot with naan, roti or paratha.
