Mawa Modak Recipe

Modak, a traditional Indian sweet specially prepared during Ganesh Utsav or Ganpati Festival, It holds a special place in our hearts, especially during festive occasions. Modak is said to be one of the most favorite sweet of Lord Ganesha.

Ingredients  

  • 100 Grams Milk Powder
  • 50 Grams Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 3 Tbsp Fresh cream
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tsp Elachi powder

Instructions 

  • Heat the pan on medium flame, add butter and let it melt.
  • Once melted add fresh cream and mix well.
  • Add milk and stir it well on medium flame till the milk mixture starts to boil.
  • Now add milk powder.
  • keep stirring constantly until the mixture becomes thick.
  • Add elachi powder and mix it well.
  • Mawa is ready, turn off the flame and let it cool
  • Once it is cooled add powdered sugar and mix it well.
  • You can increase or decrease sugar quantity as per taste.
  • Mawa is now ready - remove it in a bowl

To make Modak - use mould -

  • Take little mawa in your hand and bind it.
  • Put it on one side of the mould.
  • Similarly, put little mawa on the other side.
  • Press and close the mould and remove the excess mawa from it.
  • Open the mould and take out the modak from the mould - Modak is now shaped as required.
  • Keep it aside in a plate - In a similar way make all the modak.
